It is the time of year when we have some horses stepping down for a break, and other horses returning from their breaks.
It will result in a relatively quiet period over the next 2 weeks, but we will have plenty of runners over the coming months.
CLUB HORSES - PLANS OVERVIEW
HERE COMES MCCOY
Returning from his summer vacation, Olly is pleased with him and anticipates an imminent entry. Although we could initially resume with hurdles, it is more probable that he will focus on a chase campaign. We foresee HCM participating in 3 to 4 races by the end of January.
BORODALE
Although slightly behind HCM, it is fully anticipated that he will start running before the end of November, just in time for a busy winter period. Olly is confident that he is well handicapped, and we are excited to witness his development. Like HCM, we anticipate a minimum of 3 runs before the end of January.
THREE PLATOON
Coming out of his recent race in good form, it appears that he relies on able to dominate his competitors to secure victory. However, he tends to lack resilience when faced with a challenge, a characteristic not uncommon in horses bred from Kingman. Nevertheless, he possesses more than enough ability to achieve more wins when conditions are favorable. The handicapper has maintained his rating after the last race. With plenty opportunities the winter season, it would be quite unexpected if he doesn't secure a couple more victories, according to Bex.
MAXIMUM EFFORT
His rating remains unchanged by the handicapper following his performance last week. Max seems capable of winning from his current rating and advancing in the handicap rankings. Novice races are highly competitive at the moment, with winners achieving ratings that could be considered as Cheltenham level form, even at smaller venues. Therefore, handicaps are where Max is likely to excel. It is anticipated that Max will have running plans to compete in 3 or 4 races between now and the end of January.
ACED IT
The scan results were positive, so we can increase his workload. We will continue to take it easy with Ace, ensuring he returns to running before Christmas without overdoing it. The prospect of Ace's return to racing is thrilling, and we are eager for a productive winter ahead.
NOODLE MISSION
After his most recent race, Noodle has been dropped 1lb by the handicapper. Currently, he is resting in the paddock at Ed's stable and will take a well-earned break before getting ready for the 2025 season. Ed has set some promising goals for Noodle, and we anticipate his return at the beginning of the turf season in April, if not earlier, with the potential for valuable all-weather races.
PRESIDENT WILSON
Bob (President Wilson) has recovered well from his recent race, and Ed believes he has shown improvement since then. He is scheduled for another race in the upcoming weeks, where he will receive a handicap rating regardless of the outcome. After this race, Ed will determine whether Bob should take a break or participate in another race.
SIEMPRE ARTURO
Despite encountering several challenges, Siempre delivered an outstanding performance yesterday, despite finishing in 7th place. Jockey, Billy Loughnane commended Siempre and offered encouraging feedback, and Siempre will now have a break before returning for the 2025 turf season, his running plans promise to contain exciting and ambitious races.
PENN AVENUE
The filly will return to racing soon, but will take a break during the winter. Dan is eager to watch her compete again and then she will receive a handicap rating. Although there is optimism that she may be talented enough to win a novice race and make substantial progress, it is probable that PA will showcase her true talent and potential as a 3-year-old.
